Coming Up Next: What Challenges Do You Face as a Leader?
Introducing Our New “Leadership Challenges” Series
Ever wonder why certain leadership situations feel harder for you than they seem to be for others? Or why you keep hitting the same walls no matter how hard you try?
Your personality type can have a lot to do with it.
Next month, we’re taking a break from our regular format to deliver something different – and something I think you’ll find incredibly useful.
We’ll be publishing 16 type-specific articles that reveal the leadership obstacles each personality type faces. You’ll discover what’s likely tripping you up, why it keeps happening, and – most importantly – what to do about it.
Plus, you’ll gain insight into how your colleagues and friends might be struggling in completely different ways.
This new series starts Friday, November 28. Be sure you’re subscribed to participate.
What’s Coming Up
Throughout December, we’ll explore the specific leadership challenges that come with your personality type.
By understanding what typically trips up your type – and why – you’ll gain practical strategies for:
Understanding why certain leadership tasks might feel disproportionately difficult
Recognizing your blind spots before they derail important initiatives
Breaking patterns that keep recreating the same problems in different contexts
Leveraging your strengths to develop ways of working that suit you
We’re going to keep these articles focused and actionable. December is a busy time of year for many – you’ve got year-end deadlines, holiday planning, and about seventeen other things competing for your attention. So we’re making these posts easy to read when you’re stretched thin.
You’ll also notice us publishing more frequently than normal. We’re going to take a little break over the Christmas season at the end of the month, and we want to get all 16 types over to you before that happens.
16 Types Over 16 Days
Throughout the month, we’ll explore one personality type each day, mixing it up to keep things dynamic and show the full spectrum of leadership challenges across the workplace.
Each article will identify five specific leadership challenges that people with that personality type are likely to face – plus actionable strategies for overcoming them.
This varied approach means you’ll not only understand your own challenges better, but you’ll also gain insight into what makes leadership harder for the people around you, too.
We All Face Challenges
Have you ever felt like everyone around you has it all figured out – and you’re somehow missing something and struggling on your own?
I certainly have. And it can feel pretty demoralizing.
But I’m here to let you in on a little secret – we all face challenges at work, even if it’s not always easy to spot in others.
Your personality traits can make certain leadership situations genuinely harder for you than they are for other people. (Just as you may find some things easier than others.)
But once you know what your stumbling blocks are – and why they keep showing up – you can stop feeling blind sided or like you have to “fake it till you make it,” and actually build strategies that work.
There’s also another sneaky benefit of better understanding the leadership challenges you face – you get so much more patient with the people around you. When you realize that what feels easy to you might be incredibly difficult for someone else, it can change how you work together.
