A female INTP scientist stands in a lab. She wears purple glasses, a white lab coat, and purple attire, and is holding a beaker filled with purple liquid. Behind her is a chaotic lab scene with various elements. To her right, the letters “INTP” are prominently displayed.

How to spot INTPs (Logicians):

INTPs (Logicians) share the Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Prospecting personality traits.

They respect competence and innovation over hierarchy and tradition, meaning they crave respect for their ideas and abilities, not their title or status. They may become frustrated if their well-thought-out suggestions are dismissed or ignored.

Just 30% of INTPs say that respect is something they usually give people by default – the majority say respect must be earned. But what exactly is the best way for you to earn the respect of these innovative thinkers? Several factors come into play – intellectual competence, logical decision-making, and autonomy – but perhaps the most important is open-mindedness. That’s the factor we’ll focus on today.

Let’s dive in and explore INTPs’ deep appreciation for innovative thought and see what this means for you as a leader trying to earn the respect of your INTP team members.

Today, we’ll cover:

  • INTPs’ tendency to respect open-mindedness and innovation – and what that means for you as a leader

  • The workplace impact of embracing open-mindedness (and what you can do to earn respect)

  • A simple (yet powerful) communication strategy to help you win the respect of INTPs on your team

  • How your personality shapes the way YOU think respect should be earned (if you're an INTP leader)
