Building Respect with INFJ Personalities
See if your leadership style aligns with what INFJs respect most – and try a simple “values-first” strategy to earn their admiration
How to spot INFJs (Advocates):
INFJs (Advocates) share the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging personality traits.
They believe respect is earned through demonstrating both competence and character and strive to be both capable and principled in their work. However, their strong moral compass may lead them to struggle with showing respect to those they believe are acting unethically or unfairly, even if they hold a higher position.
Most INFJs don’t really think of themselves as above or below anyone else. In fact, they’re the least likely personality type to say they think leaders should be held to a higher standard than everyone else.
But that also means your job title and leadership position don’t mean much in terms of gaining their respect. More important? Your ability to fight for what’s right, stand up to higher powers in that fight, and demonstrate that your values – and those of the company – aren’t empty.
